Frequently asked questions about Invictus Bids
Getting Started
Download the Invictus Bids app, tap "Create Bidder Account", enter your phone number, choose a 4-digit PIN, and you're in. No email address required.
Yes — creating a bidder account is completely free. You only pay when you win an auction.
Invictus Bids is a live auction platform that connects buyers with auctioneers across Zambia. You can browse, bid, and win items in real time from your phone or on the web.
Bidding
Open an active auction in the app, tap one of the quick-bid buttons or enter a custom amount, then confirm. Your bid is submitted instantly.
Each bid must be higher than the current highest bid. The auction room shows the minimum acceptable amount when you open the bid sheet.
No — bids are binding once submitted. Please review your amount carefully before confirming.
You'll receive a push notification immediately. You can return to the auction room and place a higher bid before the timer runs out.
Some items have a minimum price the seller will accept. If bidding doesn't reach the reserve, the item may not be sold even if you are the highest bidder.
If your account has been flagged for a previously unpaid win, you'll be required to pay a deposit before you can bid again. The deposit amount is set by the admin. Contact support if you believe this is an error.
For bids above a certain threshold, your wallet balance must cover at least 10% of your bid amount. Your wallet acts as a deposit that gives you leverage — letting you bid up to 10 times its value. For example, a K500 wallet balance lets you bid up to K5,000. Top up your wallet or contact support to get started.
Winning & Payment
You'll get a push notification when the auction ends and you are the highest bidder. You can also check "My Bids" in the app or on the website.
Payment is made directly to the auctioneer in person when you collect your item — not through the app. The auctioneer will confirm your payment once received.
Payment methods are arranged directly with the auctioneer. This typically includes cash, mobile money (Airtel/MTN), or bank transfer. Confirm with the auctioneer before collection.
The buyer's levy (commission) is a percentage added on top of your winning bid. It covers the auctioneer's service fee. The levy rate is shown on each auction listing before you bid.
Your account will be flagged as a bad bidder. You will need to pay a deposit before you can participate in future auctions. Repeated non-payment may result in account suspension.
Watchlist & Notifications
Tap the bookmark icon on any upcoming or live auction card in the app. You'll find all your saved items in the Watchlist tab or at invictusbids.com/bidder/watchlist.
Yes — you'll receive a push notification as soon as a watched item starts. Make sure notifications are enabled for Invictus Bids in your phone settings.
Selling
Yes! If you have items to sell, contact us and we'll connect you with one of our professional auctioneer partners who will list and sell them on your behalf.
Selling is handled through our auctioneer partners. The auctioneer earns a portion of the buyer's levy — there are no upfront costs to the seller. Contact us to discuss terms.
